Caymus Vineyards 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Review

Caymus Vineyards is a Napa Valley winery renowned for their production of Cabernet Sauvignon, a process they have mastered for half a century.  Well known for their deep, plump, and dense bodied characteristics, Caymus has perfected this niche.

The Caymus 2014 is incredibly rich, with a dark purple coloration.  The deep colors of the Caymus Napa Cabernet is due to the grape growing process: high competition vines results in low density clusters, which ensures full maturation and flavor of the grape.  Caymus Vineyards produces two wines: Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection.  It’s what they do, and they do it extremely well.

Caymus Vineyards Tours are available for the numerous reasons one may wish to tour Caymus.  They have produced absolutely wonderful wine over the past half century, pioneering their style which many have followed over the years.

Intense fruit and jam flavors, floral aromas, cassis, vanilla finish.  This is a fruit bomb, but it’s the good kind of sweet.  This is the absolute classic Napa Valley Cab.  The 2014 Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon will continue to get better with age, and can be enjoyed for the next 15 years.
